Ginger Snaps

Note that this ginger snap recipe is only for the snaps not for making gingerbread men and such. These cookies will spread out a lot and get big. They are good rustic ginger snaps which every pantry could use for any day not just Christmas. These cookies are crunchy, tasty and absolutely perfect for dunking in milk, coffee or unsweetened tea. Also, that gingerbread character is Ginger. He is the bakery's mascot and is in fact a robot made to look like a cute cuddly gingerbread man. And no, he's not flat. His frame is a lot like a teddy bear's.

If you have a recipe or know one for sweets, share it with a picture of the goodie and I will make a recipe art piece for it.

I was thinking what would be good to drink with this? A warm tea? What kind of tea?

Maybe it would be cool to make a comment on the recipes about what you think they would be good paired with, like a tea or a glass of milk if people drink milk.

That isn't a bad idea. In my experience, you can't go wrong with coffee, milk or hot chocolate, but any basic tea is good too.

Yes i am a sugar/chocolate maniac.

Like i would probably want to drink a hot chocolate with everything i eat lol.

But i was thinking maybe there was a more food snobby way to consume things for like maxium flavor enjoyment.

Whne you mentioned the dunking i was like dunk in what?

Then i was thinking maybe just a simple warm tea with no sugar would let me appreciate the cookie with maximum pleasure.

Like if i was drinking a hot chocolate the taste and sweeteness might take away from the pleasurable expierence of the cookie enjoyment

Then you will be happy to know I came up with a red velvet twist: chocolate velvet.

So this is how I learned that molasses and blackstrap molasses, are, in fact, different ingredients. Didn't turn out too bad, albeit it was 80% the taste of blackstrap molasses. The texture and what can be tasted behind the molasses is pretty good! Looking forward to trying it again if I... find where sells molasses?? Is normal mollasses a health shop ingredient?? Do you have any idea how it feels to be putting blackstrap molasses in the oven while my boyfriend googles it and reads the words, "For the love of all that is holy, do not substitute blackstrap molasses for regular molasses" to you?

EITHER WAY, IT TURNED OUT SURPRISINGLY GOOD. Pink velvet cake next week once I make the raspberry vinegar, which is also unavailable in normal shops. These recipes are putting me through my paces!!!

Hey, they look good to me. I usually use the molasses from those milk cartons. I hope you're still having fun doing them.
