alas, poor Warrick. He fundamentally has human emotions and quirks, and right now I suspect he basically fears waking up as something that is less "himself" (or how he defines being himself) than he is right now. Even if makes no sense, he fears losing himself in this process of modifications even to save himself. or at least, that is how it seems to me.

I am glad you (my readers) get that. Warrick is an android not a computer. He may be a mechanical person, but he is a person and more importantly, a teenager. A child.
