Recipes - Lemon Velvet Cake

Lemon Velvet Cake

13th Feb 2021, 5:38 PM
My son's favourite cupcake. I had to do it. Also, I have an update on all velvet type cake recipes (which I will correct down the road), they produce 12 cupcakes, but only one 9 inch round cake. Double your ingredients if you want to make a two layer cake.

Stay hungry. If you love my art, please support me on Ko-fi, Patreon or shop for art or a commission. I do both digital and print. If you have a recipe you want made into an art piece here, let me know and we will talk.

Mmm, lemon velvet! :D

Just yesterday, I was wondering where this comic had got to. It's good to see it again. Stay hungry! :)

What about Greek Easter cookies? I used to have a recipe a long time ago and it made a zillion. I loved the not so sweet and the sesame seeds.

Hey, I'm Greek myself so I would love to do one of those! Send it my way with a picture.

Koulouria
1/2 c butter, 3/4 c sugar, juice and zest of a lemon, 2 eggs, 3 1/2 c flour, 1tbsp baking powder, 2 tbsp brandy, milk, sesame seeds
Cream butter and sugar. Add lemon juice and zest. Add eggs one at a time. Add baking powder and brandy. Work in flour and knead lightly til smooth. Divide into quarters. Divide quarters into 16th. Roll dough pieces into balls. Press into sesame seeds. Flatten into a disc. Bake at 375 for 15 minutes on greased or parchmented pans. More traditionally, roll out dough quarters, cut into thin strips, twist strips into a circle, brush with milk and press in sesame seeds.

That sounds great!

By the way, do you have a picture? It would help me draw the koulouria accurately.

Hi again. I wanted to remind you in a friendly way that I cannot make this recipe into an art card (and I really want to) until you provide me with a picture. Because I offered to do this for free, I will stand by that offer, but I cannot make this piece without a 'model'.
